Obituary of Nancy Elizabeth Robertson
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Nancy Elizabeth Robertson at Hospice House, Fredericton on January 29, 2025. Born on February 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Royal and Eileen (Lawton) Ryan, and beloved wife to Norvel Robertson.
Nancy trained as a nurse in Fredericton after high school. She met Larry, they were married and started a family. After Larry passed away, Nancy invested time in working on her spiritual growth and self improvement. She loved to read, write poetry and paint. In 2000, she married Norvel and spent 18 years at Robertson’s point, where she joined Norvel’s family and made many friends. She also enjoyed gardening, walking around the point and fell in love with every barn cat-naming them all.
She was always happy to have family and friends to the house for a visit and a cup of tea. Nancy loved Jesus- and knowing she is now with Him and her kids brings great comfort to Marcie and the family.
Nancy will be missed by her daughter, Marcie Platt (Kevin); daughter-in-law, Murielle Munro; grandsons, Michael Platt and Ryan (Rachel) Munro; niece, Debbie Christenson (Brian); sister-in-law, Frances Slipp and her daughters, Elizabeth, Nancy, Debbie, and Diane along with their families.
In addition to her parents and Norvel, Nancy was predeceased by her first husband, Larry Munro; son, Michael Munro; daughter, Janice Munro; and brother, Ralph Ryan (Mavis – deceased)
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the amazing nurses, staff, doctors, and volunteers at Hospice House Fredericton. Your kind and comforting ways of caring for Nancy meant so much to us [and her].
There will be a private graveside service for Nancy in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s name made to Hospice House or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
