Muriel Knowlton
1940-2025
With heavy hearts, the family of Muriel Ena Knowlton (nee
Dunham) announces her passing to her eternal rest on March
2nd, 2025.
Born in 1940 to Ernie and Freda Dunham, she lived a full life
in the communities of Havelock, Hillsborough and Moncton. Muriel
worked in the public for many years, always taking time to get to know
people and seemingly knew everyone. She also provided
childcare services which she spoke about fondly, and finished her
working days at the Nurses Auxiliary Canteen at the Moncton
Hospital.
Muriel leaves to mourn her children, Mike Knowlton (Barbara)
of Dieppe, and Steve Knowlton (France) of Moncton and was the proud
and loving grandmother of Nadya (Liam) of Ottawa. Muriel is survived
by her brothers, Lee (Grace), Delbert (Marjorie),
Percy, Ernie (Debbie), Donnie (Donna) and Dale (late
Lorraine). Also by her sisters Elsie Stuart (late Loyall),
Shirley Kropf (Ralph) and Sharon Lewis (Philip) and
sister-in-Law Jeanette (Ken). Muriel was predeceased by her
sister Eva in 1979 and her brother Ken in
2024.
Special thanks to the best friends that Muriel could have
ever had, Brenda, Donna and Vera. The family would like to
thank the kind staff of Spencers Nursing Home and the Moncton
Hospital.
Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury Funeral Home
(506-372-4800) where visitation will be on Thursday, March
6th, from 6 to 8 pm, followed by the funeral on
Friday, March 7th at 11 am. Interment in
Kinnear Settlement Cemetery at a later date.
The family asks that donations be made to the Kinnear
Settlement Cemetery or the Friends of the Moncton Hospital
Foundation.
