Muriel Joan (Hamilton) Blake
August 20, 1932 – January 1, 2025
With thankful hearts for a beautiful spirit among us, the family of Muriel Joan (Hamilton) Blake, 92 of Dalhousie, NB and formally of Black Point, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Born in Black Land, NB. She was the daughter of the late Ion and Grace (Alexander) Hamilton.
She is survived by children Joan (Michel) Savoie, Vivian Moores, Stewart (Dana) Blake and Ina (Tony) Lapointe. Her memory will be treasured by her grandchildren: Marc (Jamie), Eric, Paul (Taylor), Sean (Katie), Luke, Drew (Danielle), Jon-Daniel (Nichole), Kayla (Matt), Daniel (Shannon), Hyla (Alex), Basil Blake (Sophie); great grandchildren Lexie, Carlie, Léo, Brady, Eloise, Asher, Addelyne, Kaya, Beau, Ezmée.
Muriel is also survived by her sisters, Annie Black, Isabel DeRoche, Faye Warr, sisters-in-law, Judy Hamilton, Theresa Hamilton, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Allison; brothers, Ian and John, bothers-in-law; Harvey Black, James DeRoche, Robert Warr, ;sons-in-law Terry Moores and Phil Winters.
A life well lived, a life well served, a life filled with love, embracing life on her terms, she went places and did things ahead of her time. Her compassion for her biological and community family was seen in her actions and words. A woman who never took ‘no’ for an answer, her profession as a teacher reflected her innate gift to inspire and nurture, a calling she carried beyond the classroom into every facet of her life.
Her music, laughter, and unwavering Christian faith were central to who she was. Muriel’s dedication to her family and her community left a profound impact, ensuring her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in all who knew her.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at the Villa Renaissance, Dalhousie, NB., for not only their care and compassion but loving her as their own family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to MacMillan-Drapeau Funeral Home in Black Point, NB., with celebration of life at a later date.
