It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Monica Michele Baldwin, who left this world and returned to lost loved ones on January 19th 2025. Monica was a loving mother, sister, aunt and cherished friend who touched the lives of so many with her warmth, strength and unwavering love.
Born February 14th 1965 as a Valentines baby in Toronto, Ontario, Monica was preceded in death by her parents Dietmar and Erika Krueger, and her in laws Susan Baldwin and George Grant.
Monica cherished her time in cottage country with her sister, brother, daughters and friends, as well as her beloved late partner Greg Swainson. Monica had a love for hockey, cheering strong and a true fan of the Senators. She also had a love for tennis, and listening to her favorite music, attending many Evanescence concerts with Greg! She loved her cats and left behind her greatly loved companion Sox. Monica made it her mission to show an overflowing love to her two amazing daughters. She always made it well known that her daughters were her entire world, loving and guiding them throughout their lives.
Monica is survived by her children Ashley Michele Baldwin and Amanda Sue Chantel Baldwin, who will forever carry forward her legacy of love, laughter and resilience. Loved by so many including her sister Jackie Pitt (and brother in law Jim Pitt), and her brother Alex Krueger. She is lovingly remembered by her separated husband Steve Baldwin with whom she spent many years raising their family, and in law siblings Kim Grant-Fernandes, Dave Baldwin, Angela Grant and Dixie Grant. As well as, predeceased siblings Dianne Baldwin and Bill Grant. Monica is also loved by so many nieces and nephews and absolutely adored being an Aunt.
Monica leaves behind wonderful memories with her best friends Michaela King, Anne Ireland, Diana Babor and Sue Connor as well as her chosen daughter Amanda Ireland, who have years of fond memories and who have played such an important role in her life. Monica often was a loving mentor and safe place to so many community teenagers, and impacted more lives than could ever be listed.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her and her wonderful personality and huge heart. Her exceptional presence will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life and tree planting to honour Monica will take place at a later date. Please contact family members for further details. The family kindly requests any donations be made to the Cancer Society, who has played an integral part in Monica’s treatment throughout.
