Miroslaw “Mirek” Gorecki Obituary
It is with a broken heart that we announce the tragic, unexpected passing of Mirek on Wednesday March 26, 2025, at the age of 67 years. Mirek was the beloved husband of Jadwiga (nee Czarnota) Gorecki, together for 44 years of marriage. The loving father to Rob Gorecki (Rachelle), Sylvester Gorecki and Victoria Gorecki (Cory), he was always doing his best to make their dreams become a reality. He was the cherished grandfather to Julia and Emma. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Alina Sykut (Henryk), Rob and Lidia Gorecki, as well as his nieces and nephews. Mirek is predeceased by his parents Stanislawa Gorecki and Eugeniusz Gorecki. Throughout his career, Mirek made significant contributions to the construction industry, earning a well-deserved reputation for his quality workmanship. His professional expertise was rooted in the flooring industry, and evolved to stone countertops. In the later years of his career, he was involved in the family business, Nova Stone, where he continued to make an impact. After many years of demonstrating a strong work ethic, he recently retired, yet continued to pour that same commitment into his personal projects and hobbies at home (loved his bees, pets and garden), always striving for excellence in everything he did. The family of Mirek will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Wednesday April 2, 2025, between the hours of 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption (North Bay) on Thursday April 3, 2025, at 10:00 am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will follow. If desired, the family invites you to honour Mirek’s love for animals by making a non-charitable contribution to Parkside Animal Hospital’s Angel Fund. This fund helps provide care for pets in emergency situations, surrenders, and those in need, continuing Mirek’s legacy of compassion for animals.
