Minnie Lavinia Greeno passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, at the age of 100. She was born on June 16, 1924 in Falmouth to the late Walter Leslie and Bertha (Patterson) Peach.
A lifelong resident of Falmouth, Minnie worked many years at the Masonic Home and was a member of the St. John Ambulance brigade. Minnie spent most of her later years quilting, completing jigsaw puzzles and knitting socks, hats and dishcloths.
Minnie will be greatly missed by her children, Lloyd, Jim (Heather) and Elma Kozak. She was the very proud grandmother to nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Minnie was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd Greeno; brothers, Roy, Howard, Austin, Harold, Rex, Lorne, Herb, Ralph and George; sisters, Eva, Lydie and Margaret.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of Dykeland Lodge, Northwood Homecare and Christine Gerhardt for the care they provided to Minnie in her final years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, February 7 in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Brian Keezer officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. A private family interment will be held in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Minnie may be made to the Falmouth Community Hall, 147 Falmouth Back Rd., Falmouth, NS B0P 1L0.
