Mildred Patricia “Millie” MacKinley
We, the family of Mildred Patricia MacKinley, regret to announce her passing on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, at the age of 59.
Born August 22, 1965, in North Sydney, Millie was a daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Tutty) MacKinley. She grew up in Marion Bridge, resided in Albert Bridge and then New Victoria.
For many years, Millie was employed in customer service in Albert Bridge, Sydney and Western Canada. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, camping, Sunday drives, experimenting with new recipes and stargazing.
Millie is survived by her loving partner of 20 years, John MacInnis; daughter, Amanda MacKinley; son, Brian Locke; John’s sons, Greg and John MacInnis; grandchildren, Darrien, Malcolm and Jackson; sister, Dale (Edward), Mount Uniacke; brothers, Barry, Sydney River, Bradley (Crissy), Marion Bridge and Bernie (Beth), ON; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her fur baby, Madison.
In addition to her parents, Millie was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia and Debbie and brother, Kenneth.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
