The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital
Summerside on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 of Mildred Mary Pineau,
Summerside, formerly of Bloomfield, age 100, loving wife of the late
Clarence Pineau. She was born on June 2, 1924, daughter of the late
Mosey & Lauretta (Martin) Gallant.
Dear mother to Donna (Don) Kennedy, Summerside; Jimmy
(Janette), Summerside; Susan (Mike) Quinn, Bloomfield and Lori (Andre)
Chiasson, New Haven.
Loving grandmother to Jennifer (Alan) Harper, Jill (Chris)
Fraser, Danny Quinn (Brittany), Ryan (Kim) O’Meara, Meaghan
(Damian) Fraczek, Vanessa Pineau (Leif Nilsson), Sarah Pineau (Ted
Haslam), Scott (April) Kennedy, step grandchildren Jenna Chiasson
(Trace Handrahan), Ryan Chiasson and 13 great grandchildren: Valerie,
Ben, Jane, Olivia, Rebecca, Addie, Theo, Axel, Stellan, Clay, Millie,
Charlotte and Levi.
Mildred is survived by sister Beatrice Doiron, ON; Marie
Nabozney, Ohio, US; Edna (Bill) Matthews, Halifax; Marjorie Gallant,
Summerside. Mildred is also survived by sisters in law Margaret
Gallant and Rita Gallant.
Mildred was predeceased by her parents, husband Clarence
(January 3, 2013), siblings Leo, Edgar, Tillman, Elmer, Martin, Alyre,
step sister Marion Gallant and step brother Clifford
Gallant.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel,
O’Leary with visiting hours Monday from 4-7 pm. Funeral Mass
will be held on Tuesday at1:00 p.m at St. Anthony’s Roman
Catholic Church, Woodstock. Interment will be in the spring in St.
Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
St. Anthony’s CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral
home on Monday evening before visitation at 3:45pm.
The Ladies Auxiliary of St. Anthony’s Royal Canadian Legion,
Bloomfield will hold a service of remembrance for their late member at
the funeral home on Monday at 7:00pm.
