Michelle Neil Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Elizabeth Michelle Neil on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at home, at the age of 50.
Born in North Sydney on May 7, 1974, Michelle was the daughter of Vivian and the late Michael Jessome.
Michelle also lived in Lynn Lake, MB, and moved to Cassiar, BC, where she loved to roam the mountains in search of jade. Michelle had a huge collection of jade. Eventually Cape Breton started to pull on her heart strings and so Michelle moved back home. Michelle operated her own daycare. She loved her career and found great joy in the many children that were in her care. She was very involved in motocross racing. She was always joyful and loved to laugh, but her greatest love was her family.
Michelle is survived by her loving husband Dan Neil, her sons Daniel and Aaron (Erin), North Sydney; her pride and joy – her granddaughter Emberly Forrest-Neil, Sydney Mines; her sister Karen Jessome (Joe MacNeil), Sydney Mines; her brother Scott Jessome (Crystal Keeping), Thompson, MB. Michelle is also survived by sister and brother-in-law Aileen and Mike Naddaf, Groves Point, Shauna Neil of Tracadie; nieces Katelyn (Zac), Rebecca, Miley, Emily and Taryn; nephews Scott (Jessy), Andrew (Paula), Chris, Thomas; great-nephews Riley, Leo and Connor, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michelle was predeceased by her father Michael Jessome, mother and father-in-law Theresa and Daniel Neil, Elizabeth and Everett Jessome, Gertrude and Stanfield Jessome, and many aunts and uncles.
There will be a visitation for Michelle from 7-9 pm, Monday, January 13, 2025, at the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 am, Tuesday, at St. Joseph Church in Bras d’Or, with Fr. Albert Maroun officiating. The funeral mass will be live streamed from the W.J. Dooley Facebook page. Online condolences may be left for the family on the tribute wall of the obituary.
