Obituary of Michael Darren Shannon
We are saddened to announce the passing of Michael (Mike) Shannon, aged 64, on January 31st, 2025. Born February 22, 1960, Mike spent much of his life outdoors, sharing his passion for hunting and fishing with those around him. He was known for his good sense of humor and had many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Norma (Burley) Shannon.
Mike is survived by his daughters Leanne Kristoffersen (Petter) and Hilary MacDonald (Josh), and Granddaughters Irelyn and Sonora. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Theresa Burgess (Donald) and Deborah Johnson (Douglas), Roderick Shannon (Heather), William Shannon (Rita), Brenda Reid (Brian), and Marina Vandenberghe (Arthur); nieces and nephews, especially Adam Burgess, Josh Shannon (Detria), Allyson McAlpine (Justin), Michael Shannon, Charmain Hubbard (Troy), Trisha Johnson (Mark); special friend Jennifer Spinney, as well as many dear friends.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). A celebration of life will be held from 2 – 4 pm on Saturday, February 8th at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 22 at 27 Woolastook Dr., Grand Bay-Westfield. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Canadian Cancer Society in Mike’s honor.
