Obituary
Bacolini, Michael Wayne
May 6, 1955 – May 11, 2025
With great sadness and some comfort we had to say goodbye to our brother, Michael Wayne Bacolini, known affectionately as Mike to his family and friends, as he passed away peacefully in his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario on May 11, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on May 6, 1955, Mike was a lifelong resident who took pride in his roots and left an indelible mark on the community he loved so dearly. He is now reunited with his parents, Virginia (Gin) 2008 and Tom 2014 and has no more struggles, pain and frustration. He did not lead an easy life, but everyone that knew Mike will always remember him as always having the biggest smile, loved everyone and judged no one. He will be surely missed but never forgotten.
Mike was a dedicated and hardworking individual, known for his thirty-five years of faithful service as a labourer at Stelco. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his colleagues and the friendships he cultivated throughout his career. His involvement with the Hamilton Challenger Baseball Association was a testament to his love for his community and his unwavering support for the spirit of teamwork and inclusion.
An avid sports fan, Mike’s enthusiasm for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Toronto Blue Jays was contagious. He spent many an afternoon cheering on his teams. His passion for the game was matched by his generous spirit.
Mike will be remembered by those who knew him as an embodiment of friendliness, selflessness, and love. His warm smile and ready laughter were a source of comfort and joy to all. His presence could light up a room, and his kindness touched the lives of many. Mike was a friend to all, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone in need.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his sister Tina Latta (Robert) and brother Tom (Sandy), as well as his cherished nephew Joshua and niece Amanda, who will miss him deeply. Mike’s legacy of love, friendship, and community spirit will continue to live on through them.
As we bid farewell to Mike, we celebrate a life well-lived, rich in moments of joy, friendship, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. His memory will be treasured in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mike Bacolini’s journey through life has left an indelible imprint on the world, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps. Michael Wayne Bacolini’s life was a beacon of warmth and generosity, and although he has left this earthly realm, the echoes of his laughter and the memories of his compassion will remain forever. Let us honour his memory by embracing the virtues he exemplified and by cherishing the time we had with him. Mike’s story is one of love, and that love will endure always.
We wish to thank the staff at Regina Gardens Long-Term Care Residence for their care and compassion with Mike over the years and especially their dedication to their profession when he needed it the most.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hamilton Challenger Baseball Association. Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL HOME, 43 BARTON STREET EAST, HAMILTON, ON, L8L 2V7.
