Michael Victor Wood Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our wonderful dad, grandfather, and friend. Mike passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 7, 2025 at the age of 83 years.
While we lost our most beloved dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many. An engineer by trade with an attention to detail that few could rival, he also possessed a good sense of humor and wit. For those who made it into his graces, there was nothing he would not do for you.
There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest roll – he was also a friend, a coworker and colleague, a handyman, mechanic, garden designer, the list goes on and on.
Through the years, Mike enjoyed working on many projects, from building a pond in the backyard, to working on this VW beetles, learning guitar, building bat houses, yes bat houses! He had a love of the outdoors and foresting relationships with the many chipmunks that lived on his property.
He is survived by his children, son, Parrish Wood and spouse Joy Wood, daughter, Venicia Wood and spouse David Ciekiewicz; and his 3 beloved grandchildren, Marcus and Jessica Wood and William Ciekiewicz.
Preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Wood, as well as his parents Victor and Florence Wood.
Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the start of a Funeral Service at 12 noon. (Livestream available). Interment at Garden Lane Cemetery, Flamborough. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Joseph Brant Hospital, ICU ward in Mike’s name.
