Obituary
On Saturday, December 28, 2024, Michael Uhrinek peacefully passed away and has reunited with his parents and brothers up in Heaven.
Michael was born on December 03, 1944, to Maria and Andrej Uhrinek in Lenartov, Slovakia. He grew up on his family farm and eventually became a chef in the army. During the communist rule, Michael moved and settled in Toronto, Canada and became a mason and contractor. He was happily married to Eva (Bazova) for 53 years. Together they had 6 children, Adrianna (Ki-Michaels), Gabrielle (Ceresna), Marian (Maegan Free), Kristianne (Monsivais), Martin and Milan. He later became the grandfather to 9 grandchildren, Trinity, Julianna, Ethan & Austin Ceresna, Aryana & Rosalynne Ki-Michaels, Karina Monsivais, and Isobel & Ian Uhrinek.
He will always be remembered as a hard working father, always looking out for his family. He was more than happy to help out his friends whenever he could. Best of all, he will be remembered as being a great host welcoming anyone in and offering them food and a drink.
Michael, also known as Tata, Grandpa, Miško or Chefe, will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in memory of Michael at the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Parish (5255 Thornwood Drive, Mississauga) on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:00 am. Private cremation to follow.
