It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Nodin, who left us on March 2, 2025, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 1, 1952, in Wagaming, Ontario, Michael’s life was filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys that he cherished most.
Michael found happiness in life’s little moments—playing bingo and scratch tickets, testing his luck at the local casino, and enjoying the peaceful rhythm of nature on blueberry-picking trips and long walks. He had a sharp mind for puzzles, whether it was Sudoku, crosswords, or jigsaw challenges, and he loved a good card game. Above all, Michael treasured time spent with his family and friends, filling his days with warmth, connection, and shared memories.
He is survived by his beloved children Michael., Michelle (Darren), and Marianne (Charles); his loving partner Patricia; and his siblings Daniel (Lena), Lena (Edward), Andrew (Darlene), Beverly (Al), Russel (Vanessa), Deborah (Allan), Cedric (Diane), and Norma. Michael was also blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he deeply loved.
He now joins those who went before him: his parents, Sam and Rita Nodin; his dear daughter, Claudette; his sisters, Diane and Lorna; and his brother, Bruno. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario, on Wednesday, March 5, at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. A second service will take place in Armstrong, Ontario, on Thursday, March 6, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Snows, with burial to follow in Wagaming, Ontario.
Michael’s kindness, humor, and love for life will never be forgotten. May he rest peacefully, surrounded by the love that will always remain.
