Michael Quinn Obituary
Michael C. Quinn passed away peacefully at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, N.B. on January 18th, 2025 at the age of 80. Born in Quebec City on March 23rd, 1944, Michael was the adopted son of Paul C. Quinn and Kathleen L. (White) Quinn.
A life-long resident of 179 Westmorland Road, East Saint John, N.B., Michael was the husband of Susan B. (Patterson) Quinn. Michael attended and graduated from University of St. Joseph’s College in Memramcook, N.B. and successfully completed the Industrial Instrumentation Program at Saint John School of Technology. He became a committed employee as Timekeeper and Paymaster of Logistec Corporation on the Saint John waterfront for 40 years, retiring in 2008.
Michael was an avid sports fan, supporting the Red Sox, the Habs and the Pats. He coached in his sons’ Federation Baseball League programs and was an official for Swimming N.B. He also served as president of the Saint John Swim Club. Animals of all kinds brought joy to Michael’s life including pets Skeeter and Bud, and Sophie and Sammy, to mention a few. Mike enjoyed camping over the years at Pinecone Campground and spending time at his own camp in Northampton, Carleton County, N.B.
Michael is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan, his sons, Steven C. Quinn of Bellisle Creek, and Gregory M. Quinn (Shawna) of Scotch Settlement; his sister Susan (Stewart) of Burritt’s Rapids, Ontario; his sister-in-law, Heather and brother-in-law, Blake Price of Woodstock, N.B. Mike was held in great affection by his Woodstock family. He was beloved “Grampie” to Quinton, Erin, Eamon and Vera and “Uncle Mike” to many nieces and nephews. Michael also treasured his cousins Ann Riske, John Leggatt, and the late Patrick Leggatt. His was a life dedicated to his family including tireless care and support of his mother over many years.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff in all departments of Rocmaura Nursing Home who made his stay as fun and pleasant as possible over the last year. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). There will be no visitation at Michael’s request and a private mass in his memory. A committal service will take place at the Kirk Cemetery in Northampton, Carleton County, N.B. at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Rocmaura Nursing Home Foundation, the Kirk Cemetery Fund or to the charity of one’s choice.
