Mervin’s Obituary
Mervin Joseph Brulotte, long-time resident of Girouxville, passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 92.
He was born in High River, Alberta in a covered wagon alongside his identical twin brother, Melvin. They were on their way to settle in northern Alberta. He and his brother Melvin farmed together. As well Mervin took work on a seismic crew, worked as a farmhand, did various mechanical jobs, janitorial services and ended his working years with Alberta Transportation as a truck driver/snowplow operator.
Mervin’s past times included hunting and trapping at the trapline and he was a member of the Trapper’s Association. He also enjoyed fishing and camping, he played many games of baseball and horeshoes, games of crib and his fiddle.
Mervin’s love for his wife was beyond measure and he reminded her of that every day. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, his siblings Shirley, Thelma, Beatrice, Cecil, and Al. also by his mother and father in-law and numerous other relatives.
Mervin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cecile, his 4 children Wayne, Lynne, Leanne and Dale and their significan t others, his 12 grandchildren, 7 great- grand children and more to come.
A funeral Mass at Paroisse Notre Dame de Lourdes in Girouxville, Alberta on Saturday December 21, 2024 at 100pm. His final resting place will be at the Girouxville Cemetery.
Funeral Arrangements were under the direction of Chapel of Memories Funeral home.
Donations may be made to Sacred Heart Health Centre Palliative Care Society or Girouxville Cemetery Fund.
