Maxwell Hubert Denty passed peacefully away after a short illness at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Maxwell was born on Gooseberry Island on September 21, 1936 to his parents Lewis and Ida Denty. He married Daphne Glover on October 12, 1963. Together they raised four daughters.
Maxwell worked as a logger and a fisherman. Maxwell loved to share stories of his fishing and hunting days with his family and friends. He was also a great teller of limericks which he also loved to share.
Maxwell is predeceased by his parents Lewis and Ida Denty; stepfather Wesley Skiffington; brothers Arthur, Pearce, and Melvin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Daphne; his daughters Pauline (Ronald), Jackie (Arthur) Crisby, Wanda (Donald) Ralph, Jessie Denty (Aaron McKinnon); grandchildren Joshua (Clemcy Holloway), Mark (Chelsea), Adam, Aaron (Alisa); great-grandchildren Norah, Alexis, Alana, and Kallie Mae; his sister Millie (Edward) Oldenski and family; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at the James Paton Memorial Hospital for their kindness and care during this difficult time.
