It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Graham Maurice Christian, 81, at Melville Lodge, due to dementia and an unknown heart issue.
Born in Whites Lake NS on August 7, 1943, he was the son of the late Lola Virgina (Ashe) and Maurice Graham Christian.
He is survived by his wife, Constance (Connie) Christian; daughter Janice; son Chris (Stacey); sister Barbara (Ben); Brothers Douglas (Don) (Carol), Vincent, and Roy (Francine). He also leaves behind grandchildren Anny, Malcolm, Ruby, and Mackenzie, all of whom adored him and enjoyed many stories of the past during their visits. Many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins will also remember him.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, brother George, and sisters Lillian, Ethel, and Joan.
Graham was a lifelong resident of Lower Sackville. During Graham’s working years he spent 10 years as a school bus driver in the Sackville NS area and retired as a truck driver. He enjoyed long road trips with his family, camping, and fishing. Graham also enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and could talk and laugh for hours. Graham enjoyed going to car shows, country music, and baking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren by telling them countless stories about his life. To those closest to him he was known by the nickname Butch. Graham’s soft heart held a special place for animals such as his dogs Puce, Baby, and Prince.
The Christian family would like to thank the staff at Melville Lodge for the exceptional care given to Graham during his time there and for treating him like a part of their family.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
