Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, March 17, 2025. Maurice Van Acker, of Scotland in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Leona (nee Duyck) for 65 years. Loving Dad of Mary Anne (Randy) Patch, Pat (Jayne) Van Acker and Rene (Susie) Van Acker. Cherished Pepe of Lauren (Cass), Marc (Jessica), Matthew (Alexandria), Paul (Rebecca), Chloe (Derek), Daniel (Camila), Serena (Mary) and 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his grandson James (2021). Maurice will be sadly missed by his friends and family in Belgium and Canada.
Maurice immigrated from Belgium to Canada in 1958. He and Leona farmed tobacco in the Scotland and Burford area. Maurice had a great sense of humour and enjoyed meeting new people, always making new friends where ever he went, especially on their many travels together.
Family & friends are welcome to the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Friday March 28, 2025 from 11 am -1 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Maurice’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
