We are sad to announce that Stanley Matthew (known as Matt) Rohatynski, age 70, passed away on January 14th, 2025, at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The family would like to thank Matt’s General Practitioner, Dr. Jimmy Lieu, his Cardiologist, Dr. Eric Gangbar, and the other attentive healthcare professionals who cared for Matt.
He was born on January 28, 1954, in Thunder Bay, formerly Port Arthur. Matt is survived by his loving wife, Marion, and devoted son, Rhys. He also leaves 3 surviving sisters, Wanda, Paula and Andrea, and other family and friends who will miss his amazing sense of humour, big heart, and thoughtful spirit.
Matt was a Chartered Accountant and proud alumnus of Carleton University. During his career, Matt served as a Business Consultant, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. Matt was hardworking and an avid investor, with a lifelong appreciation of learning. Matt had a profound influence on his son, Rhys, through a lifetime of mentorship and support. Rhys was incredibly proud of his father.
Matt enjoyed family time at their cottage and at home. He was passionate about renovating the cottage and family home alongside his son. Throughout the years, Matt also loved spending time with his 3 family dogs, Ranger, King, and Rocky.
