With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ida Stewart (Butler) on Thursday, June 5, 2025, who was born on October 14, 1941, to Lemuel and Eliza (Beers) Butler.
Mary was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold, and her dear grandson, Tom.
Mary’s legacy continues through her five daughters: Darlene, Vera (Terry), Vivian, Sharon (Jason), and Kelly (Jeff). Her warmth shaped not only their lives but also the lives of her grandchildren: Charmaine, Dennis, Peter, Amy, Tony, Sarah, Arven, Mia, and Ryan. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Mary grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, including her siblings Murdock, Kirby, Richard, Delmer and Stephen. She was predeceased by her brothers Emmerson, Clinton, and Bliss, and her sisters Harriet and Cecile
Those who knew Mary will remember her for her love, her strength, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Always offering a cup of tea and a snack to anyone that stopped by.
Cremation has taken place under the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton NB (506-858-1995). A private family interment will take place at a later date at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Kent Junction. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fund, Kent Junction.
