Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Dianne Stuart, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who passed away on February 20, 2025 at the age of 81. Dianne was a kind-hearted, selfless individual who dedicated her life to helping others.
Dianne was the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Townsend) Baker. She was predeceased by first husband Elmer Stuart and second husband Allan Stewart, Brother Leo Baker, Brother Harold Baker and Sister Beulah Olsen.
Dianne is survived by son Paul (Stephanie) Stephens, son Doug (Lisa) Stephens, grandchildren Matthew (Olivia) Stephens, Katie (Aaric) Stephens, Darby (Austin) Stephens, and Jordan Stephens. Great Grandchildren Zeke, Emmett, Kinsley, Amelia, Avery, and Harper.
For over two decades, Dianne worked as a Personal Care Worker at Surf Lodge Nursing Home and Roseway Manor, offering compassion and care to those in need. She also spent several years at the Lockeport Daycare, where she nurtured young minds, and later, she concluded her career with Huskilson’s Funeral Home, providing comfort and support to grieving families.
Her work was not just a job—it was a calling. Dianne enjoyed connecting with others, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She volunteered with various local organizations, including the Lockeport Food Bank and church seniors’ groups. Her strong faith led her to become a devoted member of Harbour Light Pentecostal Church, where she was an active participant and a steadfast believer.
A true example of generosity, Dianne was the one you could count on. Whether it was a last-minute request to drive teens to a sporting event, sit with a friend who was unwell, or support a fellow church member in need, she always stepped up without hesitation. Her heart was open to anyone in need, and her legacy of kindness and service to others will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Arrangements and care are under the direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Surf Lodge Nursing Home Resident Activity Fund.
