À la mémoire de Martine Fournier
Martine Fournier, âgée de 74 ans de Moncton, est décédée paisiblement le dimanche 27 avril 2025 au CHU Georges-L.-Dumont à Moncton à la suite d’une courte et courageuse bataille contre le cancer.
Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux Blair Kennedy, son fils Dave et sa conjointe Natasha et son petit-fils Joe. 4 sœurs : Jacinthe, Madeleine, Raymonde (Emery), Marie-Paule (Jean) ; 2 frères : Rosario (Christine), Denis-Marie (Dorna) et feu Ghislain (Jacinthe) ; ainsi que plusieurs belles-sœurs et beaux-frères, nièces, neveux, cousins, cousines et amis.
Martine a obtenu son diplôme d’infirmière à Gaspé en 1973. Elle a commencé à travailler à l’Hôtel-Dieu de Gaspé jusqu’en 1987. Elle a déménagé à Moncton en 1988 et a travaillé au CHU Georges-L.-Dumont de 1989 à 2014. Martine s’est toujours souciée des autres avant de se soucier d’elle-même. En raison de sa nature bienveillante et travailleuse, il était naturel pour elle de faire une différence à l’hôpital. Ici, elle s’assurait que les patients recevaient les soins qu’ils méritaient avec un sourire chaleureux et amical chaque jour. On se souviendra d’elle pour sa générosité, son merveilleux sourire et son amour de la vie en plein air.
La famille recevra les condoléances au Centre funéraire Fergusons, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton N.-B. (506-858-1995) le vendredi 2 mai 2025 de 14 h à 16 h et de 19 h à 21 h. Une célébration de la vie aura lieu le samedi 3 mai 2025 à 10 h au même endroit, suivie d’un goûter.
En mémoire de Martine, un don à la Fondation des maladies du cœur ou la Société Canadienne du cancer serait apprécié.

In loving memory of Martine Fournier
Martine Fournier, age 74 of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the George L. Dumont UHC in Moncton following a short and courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband Blair Kennedy, her son Dave and his spouse Natasha and her grandson Joe. 4 sisters: Jacinthe, Madeleine, Raymonde (Emery), Marie-Paule (Jean); 2 brothers: Rosario (Christine), Denis-Marie (Dorna) and the late Ghislain (Jacinthe); as well as many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
Martine graduated in Gaspé in 1973 as a nurse. She started work at the Hotel-Dieu Hospital of Gaspé until 1987. She moved to Moncton in 1988 and worked at CHU George L.Dumont from 1989 to 2014. Martine always cared for others before herself. Because of her caring and hard-working nature, it was natural for her to make a difference at the hospital. Here, she made sure patients received the care they deserved with a warm, friendly smile every day. She will be remembered for her generosity and wonderful smile and her love to be outside.
The family will receive condolences at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton N.B. (506-858-1995) on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the same location, followed by a luncheon.
In Martine’s memory, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
