Martha Kys Obituary
Martha Kys (nee Germain), 91, of West Lorne, Ontario, peacefully passed away on March 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the Four Counties Hospital in Newbury, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Frank Kys (1994) and Louis Sojak(1958). Martha is predeceased in death by her oldest son Richard Sojak, sister Eileen Csaba and her brother Johnny Germain. Martha is survived by her sister Verna (Rene)Germain, sister Marie Mahlum, children Brenda McDougall, Patrick (Charity) Kys, Jim (Christine) Kys, grandchildren Jesse (Carley), Alexis (Lucas), Matthew (Yodit), Jennifer (Bodie),Kristen, Mikaila (Jacob) and great grandmother to Vincent.
Martha, a devote mother who found joy in cooking, gardening, raising her family and celebrating all family get-togethers,- every occasion with family and friends delighted her. Martha found immense joy in the community at the “Heritage House” where she truly loved her fellow residents and the caregiving team. Martha shared her sense of humor (and monthly chocolate subscription!) with the staff and residents. She took a special interest in the lives of those who cared for her. She could not have envisioned a better place to spend her remaining days.
Visitation will be held at Arn Funeral Home at 193 Shackleton St in Dutton on Friday, March 28, 5 -8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church 128 Main St, West Lorne on Saturday March 29, 2025 at 11:00 am. Luncheon to follow immediately after. Interment in St Anthony’s cemetery in Chatham.
