Marlen Morrison of Brooks, Alberta, loving husband of Suzie Morrison, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 at the age of 84 years. Marlen was born on November 27th, 1940, in Minton, Saskatchewan to Leo and Mabel Morrison. He worked on the drilling rigs in Alberta for a few years, then moved to the Yukon Territory to work in a copper mine, where he worked as a blaster and shift foreman. In his early thirties Marlen moved back to Alberta and joined an oil and gas service company, a career where he travelled all over Canada, Southeast Asia, Australia and Russia. Marlen eventually settled in Brooks and worked as an area manager until his retirement. He was very adventurous and loved driving to many places, including Whitehorse in his beloved Yukon and to southern Saskatchewan, where he was born. Marlen tried to stay in touch as much as possible with his friends and family and was also a devoted Edmonton Oiler fan. He will be very much missed by his loving family, and all who knew him. Marlen was predeceased by his parents, Mable and Leo Morrison. He is survived by his loving wife Suzie; daughter Penny (Duane); son Danny; stepson Tone; granddaughter Melena; grandson Hayden; sister Marlis (Gordon) and his brother Dwight (Lynn). As per Marlen’s wishes a private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
