Markian Pylat

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Markian Pylat, on February 3, 2025, at the age of 99, in the palliative care unit of the St. Joseph Health Centre in Toronto.
He is survived by his cherished wife Slawka Gowlich, his children, Christine (Brian), Roman, Stephen (Lina), and his granddaughters, Julia, Isabelle (Ryan), and Alexie.
He is predeceased by his beloved first wife Stephanie Dacko. He is also predeceased by his dear sister Luba Szklar.
Markian was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family thanks the doctors, nurses, and staff of the St. Joseph Health Centre, for their excellent care and compassionate support.
A Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 9, between 3-7pm at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 10, at 11am, at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, or the St. Joseph Health Centre in Toronto.
