Marjorie Morine Obituary
After a life well lived, the family of Marjorie Patricia Morine announces her peaceful passing on February 20, 2025, at the Rocmaura Nursing Home at the age of 102. Born in Mount Pleasant (Digby), NS, on October 21, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Emdon Fleet, and Hazel (Morgan, Fleet) and Bill Hudson all of Grand Bay.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Morine; son Donald (Cathy) Morine; grandchildren: Allison (Donna) Tatton, Jonathan (Amanda) Morine, Brent (Chrissy) Morine, Sara (Joe) Gould, Justin Blenkhorn, Krystal (Jason) Hoskins, Allison (Ryan) Vaillancourt, and Julie (Zack) Wisen; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; fur babies Muffin and Casper; as well as 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Besides her parents and stepfather Bill, she was predeceased by her husband Scott Morine who she was married to for 65 years, son Douglas (Florence), brother Lester Fleet, sister Lila (John) Harris, and sister-in-law Eleanor Morine.
Marjorie was a modest and sociable woman. An active woman in her community, she joined many groups and organizations. She was member of the Orange Order LOBA and honorary member of the Grand Lodge division in New Brunswick, a lifelong member of the Women’s Institute, Ladies Aide Group in Grand Bay, a Brownie Leader for 7 years, and a member of the Friendly Circle and River Valley Seniors Groups. As a long time member of Grand Bay Baptist Church, Marjorie joined their choir and eventually their seniors group. She loved spending time with her family and cooking fabulous meals, quilting and knitting. Marjorie was also an avid card player and if she could find someone to play with, she would sit there for hours playing various games. Later on, she found joy in playing dominos and joined a seniors dominos group.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3; (506) 646-2424. In the spring of 2025, A Celebration of Life will be held at Fundy Funeral Home with a burial then taking place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Bear River, Nova Scotia.
