Obituary of Mario Pallini
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Mario Pallini on February, 21 2025 in his 92nd year. Mario is survived by his wife, Lucia and his children, Patricia, Silvio (Christine) and Angela; his granddaughters, Sophia and Alyssa.
Mario was born on May 30, 1933 in Atri Italy to Luigi and Giovina (nee Mattucci) Pallini. Mario was married to the love of his life, Lucia for 57 years. They were married in Italy in 1968 and soon afterwards, set out for a new life moving to St. Catharines, Ontario where Mario and Lucia planted their roots and started their family.
Mario was a dedicated husband, caring father and cherished nonno. He was known for his beaming smile, devotion to his family and his determined work ethic. He had a great passion for his vegetable gardens, making his homemade wines and his annual jarring of tomato sauce; carrying on traditional skills he brought from his homeland. He also had a great love for animals, especially all of the family pets.
Mario was a well-respected and devoted employee for over 25 years as a welder with Port Weller Dry Docks. He retired there in 1998 leaving behind many friends and fond memories.
Our family would like to give special thanks to the physicians and staff at the Marotta Family Hospital in St. Catharines for providing such wonderful care to our beloved father.
Mario will be in our hearts forever and will be deeply missed.
In keeping with his wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. A private family graveside service will be held at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fonthill, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in honour of Mario to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region.
