Marilyn McClelland
Obituary
McCLELLAND, Marilyn – Peacefully at University Hospital with family by her side on Thursday, April 17, 2025, Marilyn Alice McClelland, nee Pack, of London age 94. Predeceased by her husband of 59 years William John McClelland (2015). Loving mother of Rick (Andrea ‘Andy’ Cockbain) and John (Maureen McClelland nee Chatterton). Dear ‘Zuzu’ of Thomas, Claire, Rachel (Curtis Farrell) and Benjamin and great-grandmother of Ciaran. Sister of Joan Pack (Hysen Turnbull) and the late Rowland Pack (Carol Wright) and Carol Ruby Shaw (Gerald).
Marilyn inspired many throughout her life – professionally, socially, and as a much loved family member and friend. She had a knack for making lifelong friends wherever she went. A graduate of UWO, she worked many years as a psychologist when few women were in the field.
Marilyn and her beloved husband Bill loved to travel, spend time at their cottage near Parry Sound, and be with family and friends. She loved music, reading, knitting, quilting, and a series of wonderful dogs.
Once widowed, she enjoyed social activities at Richmond Woods apartments, particularly book club and bridge. She actively volunteered at St Joseph’s Hospice of London, finally retiring two days before she died.
Marilyn received exemplary care in her final days at University Hospital, especially from General Surgery and the Palliative team.
We who loved her will miss her like hell.
Private family interment at Woodland Cemetery. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Marilyn (Pack) McClelland Award in Psychology at Western University, St. Joseph’s Hospice of London, or the March of Dimes would be appreciated.
