Marilyn “Lyn” Jean Campbell Obituary
Marilyn Jean (Lyn) Campbell nee: Tait, of High River, AB., formerly of Fergus, ON., passed away surrounded by her family at the High River Hospital on January 9, 2025 at the age of 78 years.
Lyn leaves her beloved husband of fifty-nine years Bob (Rumble) of High River, AB. and the two joys of her life, her sons; Rob of Burlington, WA., and Trevor of Calgary, AB. Also left to grieve are her brother Peter (Marlene) Tait of Listowel, ON. and sister Diane (Albert) Hayes of Fergus, ON. Lyn had a great love for her nieces and nephews and their children. Lyn will be met in heaven by her parents Bill and Audrey (Campbell) Tait and her beloved sister Judy Bellamy.
Lyn lived the first sixty years of her life in Fergus, Ontario. When Lyn finally “grew up” and started her career, she worked for the V.O.N. as a Personal Care Aid on the palliative team. This became her passion in life and she volunteered in this area for many years after retirement. She liked to think she brought comfort and empathy to the families and people in her care. Through life experiences and working in palliative care, Lyn developed a deep faith and belief in God.
When her husband retired they went on their “western adventure” and moved to High River, Alberta to be closer to their children. Lyn had a deep affection for the west and loved the time spent living there, however, Fergus was always home.
A Celebration of Lyn’s Life will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Home – Reception Lounge, 301 Macleod Trail SW, High River, on Saturday, January 18, 2025 between 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Lyn will be laid to rest at Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus, ON. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Lyn’s request was that memorial donations in her memory be made to a hospital or hospice organization of your choice.
