Obituary of Marie Theresa McCann
The family of Marie “Theresa” (Daigle) McCann announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born November 3, 1932, in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Joseph and Angeline Marie (Gaudet) Daigle.
Theresa’s career was centred in nursing, working with Dr. Roberts Hospital School from 1967-1973 and St. John & St. Stephen Home from 1977-1988. Over the years, she was very active with Legion Branch 69, and most recently resided in Sea Street Manor.
Theresa is survived by her children: Peggy Thompson (Peter), Matthew (Bonnie), John (Nicole), Michael, Patricia Wilson (Charles), and Maureen McCann; grandchildren: Michael, Andrew, Roxine, Tamara, Natasha, Phillip, Russell, Jason, and Michelle; several great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Briggs; brother, Donnie Daigle (Elva); and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her brothers: Leo, Paul, and George; and sisters: Elizabeth Gallant, Florence Daigle, and Mildred Gray.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 360 Dufferin Row, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, beginning at 12 pm with interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
