1939-2025
Marie Anne Shaw of Peel
passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Upper River Valley
Hospital in Waterville. She was born April 12, 1939, and was the
daughter of the late Arthur and Violet McLean. Besides her parents,
she was predeceased by her husband, Clifton Shaw; siblings, Willard
McLean, Merlin McLean, Norma MacIntosh, Joan (Sheldon) Boone;
sisters-in-law, Edna McLean, Tena McLean; and brother-in-law, Richard
Pryor.
Marie is survived by her
two sons, Brian (Sally) Shaw of Oakland, Brent (Sharon) Shaw of
Fredericton; grandchildren, Steven (Erin) Shaw, Samantha (Shawn Jones)
Shaw, Tyson Shaw, Dylan Shaw; great grandchildren, Kyleigh Shaw,
Kamden Shaw, Kalaiah Comeau, Christopher Shaw; chosen daughter, Judy
Sherwood; siblings, Arnold (Mary) McLean, Glenn McLean, Verna Pryor,
Harold McLean; sisters-in-law, Marilyn McLean, Ruth McLean; several
nieces and nephews.
Marie had several
past-time activities that she enjoyed and kept her busy throughout her
life. One of these activities was being outside in the flower garden,
you could be sure that there was always a shovel in the trunk for
opportunities to dig up flowers in her travels. Marie had a love for
music, in which she played a variety of instruments and regularly
attended Fiddlers. Marie also loved doing puzzles on her computer.
Marie loved to laugh and always looked forward to sharing laughs with
family.
A visitation will be
held on Wednesday, March 26,
2025, at the Britton Funeral Home, 2 High Street,
Hartland, from 3 to 5
p.m. A private interment will be held at a later
date. If so desired, donations can be made to the Simonds Cemetery or
