Our Princess has reunited with her Prince Charming.
Maria Jose Freitas , November 13, 1930 – May 12, 2025
Maria passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 94.
Predeceased by her loving husband Jacinto Freitas, sons infant Jose Freitas and Jose Freitas(Virginia), great granddaughter Kiara Freitas as well as Maria’s parents and siblings.
She will be greatly missed by her children Dinarte Freitas (the late Maria Jose), Luis Freitas(Goretti), Tony Freitas(Carolynn), Mario Freitas(Nancy), Paula DaSilva(Mane). Grandchildren Carla(Rick), Carlos(Nancy), Chris(Shab), Pedro(Margie), Vera(Rudy), Steve, Christina, Mandy(Brian), Kenny(Kim), Linda(Rob), Jesse, Destiny(Matt), Mathew, Nathan, Simon and Christian as well as all her 30 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Born and raised in Santa Maria Azores, where she met and married her soulmate and Prince Jacinto. They immigrated to Cambridge, Ontario with their family in1975.
Maria a breast cancer survivor and devoted worshiper, loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. For years she enjoyed spending time at her trailer, where you could find her playing cards, dancing and singing.
You could always expect a full house and warm welcome. The Matriarch of her family who was loving, compassionate and kind will remain in our hearts forever.
A huge thank you to all the CMH nurses and doctors, paramed nurses, all staff and volunteers at Lisaard house and a special thank you to Dr. Sandor.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Lisaard House would be greatly appreciated.
Resting At Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St. N, Cambridge where family and friends will be received on Wednesday May 14, 2025 from 6-9p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church on Thursday May 15, 2025 at 10a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Cemetery.
