It’s with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Beloved mother, Maria de Lima Braga, who passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025 at the age of 94. She was surrounded by her loving family at Fairview Nursing Home where she resided for the past 2 years.
Beloved wife/widow to Manuel Braga (deceased). She was a loving mother to Maria do Rosario, Manuel, Ramiro, Lucia and Irene. Grandmother to, James, Sonya, Cristina, Victor, Jordan, Beau, Romeo, Zachary, Jeremy, Sarah and Lucas. Great-grandmother to, Cooper, Chase, Lila, Richard, Lilian, Alyssa, Avery, Charlotte, and Nina.
She was born in Travessa dos Milagres, Arrifes, Sao Miguel, Acores. She started working at the tender of age 9 years old to support her family. At the age of 18, she lost her own mother and carried out her mother’s role. She got married at the age of 25 and had 5 children. She immigrated to Canada in 1969, at the age of 38 along with her 5 children.
She was a pillar of strength to her family, a woman who continued to work hard with such pride and humility. She dedicated herself into every role in her life with dignity and perseverance. A kind person you can talk to for hours, patiently listening with kindness. A woman who enjoyed listening to her music and shared stories about herself when she was young. Her upmost enjoyment was to make her family happy, as she did with so much love and affection.
Mom, we will miss your beautiful smile. A smile that would light up a room with that twinkle in your eye which melted our hearts. Your spirit will endure in our hearts forever and like you always use to say, “Ate um dia se Deus quiser”. May you rest in Eternal Peace. Until we meet again in Gods Kingdom.
