Passed away peacefully on January 22nd , 2025 surrounded by her family, at Hillsdale Estates, in her 97th year.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Mario, May 28, 1988.
Cherished mother of Lee & Bill, Gus & Gabriella (Gabe), Theresa & John and Frank & Marisa. Beloved nonna of John Paul (Cheri), Robert (Nita), Maria (Brian), Andrea (Chris), Pam (the late Frank), Jennifer (Brion), Jessica (Mike), Enrico (Tonia), Luigi (Lori), Carlo (Lisa) and Marco and their families. Great nonna of Kora, Nyssa, Elaura, Dominic & Matteo and great great nonna of Beau & Indie. Predeceased by her brothers Antonio, Gino & Mario. Maria will be lovingly remembered by her many extended family and friends.
Maria was the Proud Matriarch of her family. She lived a long and wonderful life surrounded by the support of her family. She was a strong and determined woman who worked hard and created her own path in life. She loved cooking for her family and friends. Maria had a wonderful circle of friends who she enjoyed being surrounded by and hosting in her home, the coffee was always on. She also enjoyed her garden, growing tomatoes, vegetables and flowers and especially roses.
Special thank you to Maria’s companion and care givers for their love and support throughout the years, Ida & Valeri. Our sincerest heartfelt gratitude to the team at Hillsdale Estates for their compassion and care.
Visitation will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Friday January 24th from 4pm to 8pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Saturday January 25th at 1pm. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
Donations in memory of Maria to Sick Kids Hospital or Holy Cross Parish would be appreciated by the family.
