Maria Anna Longo Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Maria Anna Longo nee “Loricchio” on April 2, 2025, at the age of 93.
Maria was born in San Demetrio Corone, Italy on January 24, 1932. Maria immigrated to Canada with her late husband Demetrio Longo in 1954. They settled in Kingston, Ontario and had three children, Josephine (Shane), Lorenzo (Lara) and Lucy (Steve). Maria had three grandchildren, Zack, Christopher and Michael, who she adored and loved spending time with. Maria and her husband later moved to Milton, Ontario.
Maria was passionate about cooking, baking, gardening and spending time with the family. She was famous for her lasagna, pizza and almond biscotti and always sharing these specialties with family and friends. Maria will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We will always cherish the last days that we spent with Mom by her side knowing that she knew we were there.
A visitation will be held at James Reid Funeral Home on 1900 John Counter Blvd in Kingston, Ontario on Tuesday April 8, 2025 from 2-4pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on 392 Palace Road in Kingston, Ontario on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 11am followed by a interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery on 718 Division St, Kingston, Ontario. A reception after interment will take place at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, Ontario, please enter through the rear parking lot doors. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
