Margaret Leonore Van Toen (nee Fyfe) born Sept 1924 (in Stratford, England) passed away peacefully on Monday March 24th 2025.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Van Toen and grandson Sean Brown.
Survived by daughters Helen Weeden (Martin), Jane Van Toen (Stephen Brown ) and son Robert Van Toen (Jane) and five grandchildren: Janet, Graham (Mandy), Jill (Brett), Amy, and Sinead (Kurt) and five great grandchildren: Brady, Robin, Dylan, Cillian and Ciaran.
Margaret worked at Canada Post for 24 years. After retirement she attended Nipissing University earning a Geography degree followed by a History degree. She also travelled to several places in the world.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Cedar Lodge of the North Bay Hospital plus Darlene and her team from Hello Darlene for the kind and wonderful care and support they provided our mother. Also, a big thank-you goes to the Home and Community Service, Care Partners, Paramed and the VON.
And, lastly, the very kind neighbours on Judge Avenue who together made it possible for our mother to stay in her home until she was 99.
On Saturday April 26th the family welcomes friends to a coffee hour at 10.00am at St John’s Anglican Church, 301 Main St. North Bay. This will be followed with a service at 11.00 am.
