SMITH, Margaret (nee Tiessen)
passed peacefully at 83 years of age, surrounded by family on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Country Village Healthcare Centre. Beloved wife of Gordon for 55 years. Loving Mom of Dawn Whaley (Tim), Diane Smith, Debra Olson (late Eric), and Donald Smith (Gina). Cherished Grandma of Amanda, Tyler, Sidney, Taylor, Elise, Abigail, Cohen, Logan, Callan, Cooper, and Great Grandma of Everly, Easton, Ozzy, and Winter. Predeceased by her parents, Nikolei and Margareta Tiessen and step mother, Olga Tiessen. Dearest sister of late Elsie Janzen (late George), late Irene Epp (Jake), Late John Tiessen (late Irene), late Sophie Wiens (late Victor), Martin Tiessen (Suzanne), late Nick Tiessen (Miriam), late Louise Schiller (Helmut), Erwin Tiessen (Ruth), Walt Tiessen (Bev), Ed Tiessen (Jane) and late Rob Tiessen. Dear sister-in-law of late Elgin Smith (Flo), and Mary Lou Champagne (Frank). She will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews and large extended family. Margaret was devoted to her family and especially loved any time spent with her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Country Village for the wonderful care shown to Margaret over the last 8 years. Visiting will take place at Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Ave. E., Es (519-776-4233) on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5-8pm. Visiting will continue on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 1 pm until time of Funeral Service to celebrate Margaret’s life at 2 pm. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial donations made to Heart & Stroke or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Family and friends are invited to share their memories online at www.reidfuneralhome.ca
