Margaret Schamp Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Schamp (nee Adair), of Holland, MB on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
Margaret was born July 24, 1943 at Maryfield, SK, the fifth child to Bob and Grace Adair. She was predeceased by her first husband David Davis. She leaves to mourn her husband Arthur Schamp, son Ken (Pam), grandchildren Alex and Makeda, daughter Kim, grandchildren David and Maryanne, step children Bruce, Kevin and Sherry (Ken), grandchildren Morgan, Jessica, Matthew, Jayden, as well as numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.
As a child growing up Margaret combined the traits of not only being a tomboy, but also a thoughtful and caring child. She never lost those qualities as she got older, often getting down on the floor and playing games with her children and later with her grandchildren. This included tea parties that went on for a while!
She married David Davis in July 1965 and graduated from nursing school in Brandon with an LPN degree. She is remembered as a very hardworking and compassionate nurse that had time for every patient.
Margaret enjoyed her garden, flowers, canning anything that could be canned, baking, camping, volunteering and above all she loved her family and friends.
After David’s passing, she was lucky enough to meet Arthur, someone who was also grieving. Arthur and Margaret were married in October 1990, and she moved onto his farm in Cypress River, MB. It was then that she got to have a second family, a new group of friends and was able to be a mother, and then grandmother again.
In Holland, Margaret volunteered at the Friendship Centre for many years and continued to garden each year with Arthur, and once again spend time with family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19th , 2025 at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Holland, MB at128 Patrick St. with Father Joseph Tran as celebrant. Prayers & Eulogy will be held at the church at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral. A light lunch will follow at the Holland Community Centre, 136 Broadway St. Interment will take place in the Brandon Cemetery at a later date.
Memoriams may be made in Margaret’s memory to Spinal Cord Injury Manitoba Inc. 211-825 Sherbrook St. Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 or to a charity of choice.
