It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Margaret Mary Hillier of Fortune, NL announces her passing at the Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank on January 21, 2025 at the age of 72.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband of 51 years; Leslie Hillier; Children, Lynn Downey (Greg) of Grand Bank, Brian Hillier of Fortune; 6 Grandchildren, Wyatt Downey (Courtney), Mark Downey, Theodore Downey, Taylor Hillier, Lucas Hillier, Starla Hillier; Great-Grandchildren, Skyla, Charlotte, Sullivan; special niece, Denise Slaney Walsh; sister, Blanche Fitzpatrick (Loyola), brother, Ron Slaney (Jenny); sisters-in-law, Sylvia Large (Mike), Daisy Peters (Tom), Maude Walsh, Ada Follett (Cyril), Eleanor Pell, Grace Olivier, Shirley Slaney, Melinda Collins, Marie Slaney, Bernadette Slaney; brothers-in-law, George Hillier (Theresa), James Fitzpatrick, plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Margaret was predeceased by parents, William & Edna Slaney; parents-in-law, Frank & Mary Ann Hillier; brothers, Bud Slaney, Hubert Slaney, George Slaney and Roy Slaney; sisters, Marion Cousins, Susie Fitzpatrick; brothers-in-law, Anthony Cousins, Henry Philip Hillier; nephews, Tony Cousins, Randy Fitzpatrick, Stephen Fitzpatrick, James Slaney, Carl Cousins, David Cousins; niece, Joyce Cousins.

A funeral service for family and friends will take place at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Fortune, following the visitation on Thursday.
