KUNTZ, Lynne Janine (née Rozich)
With hearts full of gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Lynne Kuntz on December 30th, 2024 at the age of 78.
Born in Windsor, ON on January 9th, 1946, Lynne was the eldest daughter of the late John and Ruby Rozich. Predeceased by her brother Michael, she leaves behind her sister Barbara (Carl) Montcalm.
Lynne was the beloved wife of John Edward “Ed” Kuntz for 58 years, devoted mother to Andrew (Nancy) Kuntz and Kathryn (Alex) Folkl, and adoring Grandma to Emily and Kaitlyn Kuntz and John Folkl.
Lynne touched the lives of many students as an English teacher for the Greater Es County District School Board. After graduating from Riverside High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate from the University of Windsor and began her teaching career (at age 20!) at J.L. Forster Secondary School. She paused her career to raise her children, before returning to teach at Western Secondary School.
Lynne will be remembered by all as the petite, blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty, with a vibrant fashion-sense and a smile that would light up the room. She took pride in her beautiful home and organizing social events, from curling bonspiels at Beach Grove Golf and Country Club, to fashion shows at her schools, but the joy of her life was her time with family. She hosted the best birthday parties and the most elaborate Christmas brunch.
Mom was an avid reader, especially enjoying historical fiction and mysteries, and indulging in fashion and decorating magazines. Through the school year, she was a night owl, always marking papers late into the night, and preparing lesson plans for the next day. But in the summer, you’d find her reading outside, lying on a chaise lounge or on the boat. In her later years, she cherished her time reading with her grandchildren. Mom was so proud of her children and grandchildren’s academic achievements.
On behalf of Mom, our family expresses appreciation to the medical professionals for their care and compassion during her life.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10am until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 11am. Burial will follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery (1185 Hwy 3, Oldcastle). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Lynne’s honour would be appreciated by the family.
