Lynette (“Lynne”) Susan Fosdick
Lynne passed away in the early morning of Friday, February 7th, 2025, at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland ON, after over a two decade long & hard fought battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She was a fighter to the very end, and she managed to come back from several episodes of illness in the last few months. She went comfortably and peacefully thanks to the attentive care of the GBGH medical staff.
Lynne was born in Scarborough ON, on January 15th, 1968 to the parents of Beryl & Robert Jacob’s. She grew up in Meadowvale ON, and her favorite childhood memories were spending time with her Grama Jacob’s where they would host tea party’s, and she developed her love of cooking from her. She advanced several times in school, and she would end up moving to the United States to go to Buisness School at the University of Virginia at Virginia Tech. After school, she would get a sales job for IBM, the computer company, and travel the United States as a sales person.
In her early twenties, she was married for a brief time to her first husband, Bill Fosdick, although the marriage lasted half a year. She would later return to her home in Canada to help look after her father who was battling cancer before he passed. She then went on to meet her second husband, Michael Ledger, and they had one child together, Robert Ledger.
Lynne was always a huge animal lover, and she gave a home to many dogs, cats, birds, and horses over her many years. She always volunteered and would often adopt from the Humane Society. She was also a very talented chef, and she worked at many well established restaurants in Simcoe County, including the Admirals Post and Oslers Bluffs in Collingwood ON, as well as The Sovereign in Creemore ON. She was most known for her French inspired cuisine, and she always would swear by The Joy of Cooking Cookbook, as the Bible for all chefs. Lynne also had a love for history, with her favorite period being the Tudor period in England with King Henry 8th and Queen Elizabeth, along with ancient Egypt and Cleopatra.
Lynne will be deeply missed by her only son, Robert Ledger, and his Fiancée, Diana Medeiros. Although she won’t be able to attend their wedding in person later this year, her family knows that she will join in spirit. In lieu of a funeral, the family asks that if you would like to make a financial donation to send it to your local Humane Society, in memory of Lynne’s love of animals.
