Lynda Joanne Fay (nee Bogle) Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lynda Fay, 77, on March 11, 2025, after facing a 10-year cancer battle with remarkable courage, resilience, and grace.
Lynda will be forever remembered for her radiant smile, keen intellect, and the genuine compassion she had for everyone she met. Small, but mighty — she had immeasurable internal strength and an independent spirit that inspired many throughout her life.
A brilliant student, Lynda attended McMaster University on a full scholarship. Learning remained her lifelong passion, from being an avid reader, to pursuing many different courses and hobbies, to keeping up on current events — always with insightful perspectives.
Lynda began her career in early computing before transitioning to Human Resources, where she meaningfully impacted countless workers, guiding them through their careers. A lifelong champion for equality, Lynda stood up proudly for herself and other women and supported organizations like Plan International that empower girls and women around the world.
At 20, Lynda married her first love, Earle Fay and they enjoyed 18 wonderful years together, including welcoming their daughter, Lee. Earle passed in 1985 and, later in life, Lynda found love again with Wilf Phillips (who she first met in grade school!), and they shared many years of happiness, adventures, and creating memories.
Lynda will be missed every day by her adoring daughter Lee (Alex Blair-Johns), with whom she shared an exceptionally deep bond that will live on. Also cherishing her memory are her beloved sisters Arlene Munro (Barry), Sandy Michaluk (John), Kathy White (Bob), Deb Dobbie (Gary), brother-in-law Barry Phillips (Marnie), sister-in-law Barbara Boudreau, 14 nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the kind and supportive healthcare professionals and staff at RVH, Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, community homecare, and Campbell House.
Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held to celebrate Lynda’s life. Friends wishing to honour her memory may consider donating to Plan International Canada, Operation Smile, or any of the healthcare providers that cared for her.
