Obituary of Ludmilla Paulin
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Millie Paulin in the early morning hours of April 12, 2025, at the age of 91. A beloved resident of Martindale Place and a founding member of the Slovenian community of Lipa Park, Millie’s gentle presence and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Millie was a kind and happy soul. Her warmth radiated through every smile, and her strength anchored her family through joy and sorrow. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Drago Paulin (2001), and her beloved son, Carl Paulin (1979), whose memories she held close to her heart.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted daughter, Margaret Gulic, and son-in-law, Slavko Gulic. Millie was a proud and adoring grandmother to Ivan, Anita (Jeremy Todd), and Danielle Gulic (Chris Hammell), and a joyful great-grandmother to Zoey, Hendrix, and Harlow Todd, and Rocco Hammell—each of whom carries a piece of her sweet and rebellious heart. She is also lovingly remembered by many dear relatives and friends in her homeland of Slovenia, with whom she shared lasting bonds of love and heritage.
To those who knew her, Millie embodied grace, resilience, and a deep devotion to family. Her life was a testament to the values she cherished: the strength to overcome hardship, the joy found in simple moments, and the unbreakable bonds of kinship. Her legacy lives on in the laughter of her great-grandchildren, in the traditions passed through generations, and in the love that continues to bind her family together.
Rest peacefully, Millie. Your light will never fade. You were a woman ahead of your time.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St. on Thursday, April 17th from 11am until the time of Final Tribute for Millie in the Ceremony Room at 1pm. If so desired donations made in Millie’s memory to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by her family.
