It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucy Jewer on January 10, 2025, at the age of 79 at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre surrounded by family.
Lucy was born December 20, 1945, to her parents, Ada and William Pynn in Carbonear, Newfoundland.
She grew up in Carbonear, Newfoundland where she met and married her husband, Howard of Spaniard’s Bay, Newfoundland. Lucy and Howard had three sons, Calvin, Terry and Craig, and one daughter Trennia. She moved to Alberta in 1982 to join her family. After retirement spending time between Newfoundland and Alberta to be with family and friends.
Lucy will be always remembered for her love, kindness and willingness to be there to help. She was a kind and caring woman who gave you a piece of her heart the moment you met her. She would bring you joy and laughter with her sense of humor within minutes of knowing her.
She is survived by her children: Terry (Sonia), and Trennia (David); grandchildren: Madison, Nikita, Travis, Andrew, and Terri; sisters: Beatrice (Gord) Bears, Lillian Osmond, Ann (Ches) Peddle, Ada (Dave) Peddle, Ruby King, and Sandra (Allan) Hatcher, sister-in-law: Rosalind Pynn, and Florence; brother-in-law: Clayton (Bernice) Jewer; and large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lucy is predeceased by her parents: Ada and William; husband: Howard; children: Baby Calvin, and Craig; brother; Jim Pynn; sisters-in-law: Joyce (Harry) Bishop, Helen (Thomas) Mercer, Phyllis (Richard) Bell; brothers-in-law: Eric (Bella), Jack, Wallace (Susie), Vick King, and Harry (Freda).
