Lucille St. Amant Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and mémère Lucille St. Amant. Lucille passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at Boundary Trails Hospital, at the age of 94.
Lucille will be deeply missed by her daughter Fran (Aurèle), and sons, Michel, and Alain (Nadereh), as well as her grandchildren Kayla (Dustin), André, Daniel and Donna, and great grand-children Bennett, Gillian, Leo, and Oakley. Lucille is survived by her sisters Raymonde DePape, Lucienne Tougas, Patricia Lanovaz, as well as her sisters in-law Cecile St. Amant, Annette Bazinet, Pat Grant, and Eveline Schiewe, and brothers in-law Bernard St. Amant (Barb) and Roland Bazinet.
Lucille is predeceased by her loving husband Fernand St. Amant, her parents Omer and Antoinette (née Mousseau), her brothers Ulysse, Lionel and Gérald Tougas, her sisters Cécile and Laurette Théberge and many other lovingly remembered brothers and sisters in-law.
Lucille, an elementary school teacher born and raised in Sainte-Anne Manitoba, married the love of her life Fernand St. Amant in 1958, and moved to St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba to establish their home and start their family. She would go on to live in their family home that she loved so dearly until the day of her passing.
Lucille was an avid reader and was proud of her extensive book collection that filled shelves upon shelves. She was also proud of her family and their accomplishments and would often reminisce about all the wonderful things her children had achieved since childhood. She was an active grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren, creating fond memories of summer camping, shopping trips into the city, movie nights, and long afternoons of card games with them. Her great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she loved supporting their passions and hobbies.
According to Lucille’s wishes, a private inurnment and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank Victoria Lifeline, the EMS who responded to the call, and everyone at the Boundary Trails Hospital who were involved with Lucille’s care. You demonstrated the highest level of care and compassion.
In Lucille’s memory, donations can be made to the Manitoba Kidney Foundation.
