Obituary of Lorna Allen
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear Lorna who entered the Kingdom of Heaven on the morning of April 26th, her birthday, at the age of seventy-five years. Beloved wife of forty wonderful years to Garrett “Garry” Allen. Dear mother of Patrick (Allison Daines) and super Nana to Avery and Sawyer Allen of Kanata, Ontario. Respected step-mother to Mary Leigh Elliott (Peter) and cherished Granny to Maeve, Charlotte and John Elliott of Renfrew, Ontario.
Lorna was the daughter of the late Rheo Robitaille and the late Pearl Whalen of Ottawa and formerly of Maniwaki, Que. She was the effervescent sister of Gail MacKenzie (late Grant); Shirley Coughlan (late Gerald); Doris Doucette (Garry); Barbara Lee (Garry) and Geraldine Taggart (Aladar Bartakovich) and was predeceased by her only brother Garry Neil Robitaille.
Lorna was the daughter-in-law of Mary A. Allen, St. Joseph’s Manor, Campbell’s Bay, Que and the much respected sister-in-law of Gail Donlan (Michael); Michael Allen (Colleen Cox); Des Allen (Carolyn Buder); Brian Allen (Sandy Bell); Stephen Allen and the late Benny Allen (Upendo Mziray).
A Celebration of Life Mass will take place at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 44 Rothesay Drive, Kanata, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Followed by a reception in the adjacent church hall. Lorna’s care has been entrusted to the Cole Funeral Services, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Ontario.
Donations to the Queensway-Carleton Hospital, Palliative Care Unit or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
