Lorna’s family are saddened to announce her peaceful passing at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, Ontario, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Lorna was born to Robert and Eva Howie in Montreal on December 16, 1927. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Florence Day, Neil Howie, and Reggie Howie. Lorna was also predeceased by her beloved husbands, Sam Grosman (1999) and Bruce Phillips (2016). Lovingly remembered by step-daughters Joanne Grosman (Paul Gray) and Claudia Thar (Cal) and stepson Rob Phillips (Bev). She was predeceased by her stepson, Paul Grosman (2017). Loving “Granny” to Shuli Grosman-Gray and Jessica Grosman (Sean Hewitson), and great-grandmother to Annika Grosman Hewitson. Dear Aunt to Glenn Day, Wayne Day, Scott Day, Lorne Day, Dean Howie, Stuart Howie, David Grosman, and Paul Grosman. She was predeceased by nephews Robbie Howie and Ian Day. She is fondly remembered by her extended family and many friends.
Lorna was very proud of her lengthy career at Air Canada. She travelled extensively and was passionate about Geneology, researching several family lines over many years. Lorna also enjoyed golf and aqua fit.
Thanks to the staff at Strathmere Lodge for their care and kindness to Lorna over the past several years.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Rideau Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice are gratefully acknowledged.
