Loral’s life was filled with love, creativity and dedication. She began her life’s journey in Ottawa, where she attended the High School of Commerce. At 17, she met Bobby Black from Ottawa Tech High School, and they married, building a beautiful life together. Later, Loral began a rewarding career in administration with the Ottawa District School Board while raising her five children.
In her fifties, Loral married George Spence, and together they shared a love for travel, crafting and family. Loral was known for organizing unforgettable family events, such as cottage “Boat” parties, Christmas “Cookie” parties and intriguing “Murder Mystery” nights. Her creative talents included cake decorating, stained glass artistry, knitting and oil painting. She also had a knack for impromptu jingles and poetry that brought laughter to those around her.
Other joyful endeavours included being a huge fan and volunteer for the Ottawa Senators, and part of the sisterhood of the Red Hat Society and Dazzling Diamond Divas.
Anyone who knew Loral would surely recognize her deep love for cats. Over the years, her furry friends provided her with comfort, joy and companionship. They were more than pets; they were cherished family members.
She will be forever missed by her Beloved Becky, they were inseparable.
Her family would like to thank the caring staff at Almonte General Hospital, Carleton Place District Memorial Hospital and the compassionate care team at the Carleton Place Terrace and her dedicated and amazing Personal Support Workers who assisted her at home during the last few years.
