Lois Evelyn Kipfer Obituary
Lois Evelyn Kipfer, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home on March 4, 2025, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Louise (Monteith) Simpson.
Loving wife of Fred Kipfer (d. 2007), Lois is survived by her children: Ron (Peggy), Ray (Alison), Ross, Beth Whitlock (Jeremy), and Rick. She was a cherished and loving grandmother to Scott Kipfer (Susanna), Becky Steckly, Cassie Close (Jeremiah), Kara Mossey (Jeff), Jed Kipfer (Mary Lou), Poppy Kipfer (Ryan), Alex Whitlock (Courtney), Lucy Hennigar (Riley), and Evan Whitlock, and a great-grandmother to several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Don Simpson (Marie); sisters, Verna Willows (Floyd) and Eileen Hosick (Wally); and sister-in-law, Marie Weitzel.
Over the years, Lois was employed at the City of Stratford, the Perth District Health Unit, and Spruce Lodge. She was an active volunteer at her church, as well as in numerous community organizations. She graciously shared her musical talents to the delight of all who heard her play.
Lois found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. She was a practical woman with a wonderful sense of humour that stayed with her until the very end. She lived life with a positive attitude, and her warmth, wit, and kindness will be deeply missed.
Thanks to granddaughter Kara, who lovingly cared for Lois in her final days at home.
Visitation will be held at W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m., and on Saturday, March 8, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow.
Donations in Lois’s memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Stratford, or to a charity of one’s choice.
